Dear COC Rewa Family,
David the psalmist says in Psalm 122v1 I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.” ….v4 Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, To the testimony of Israel, To give thanks to the name of the LORD.
On Monday this week we received some good news! Our Government has allowed us to go back to gathering in the house of the LORD, with a limit of 100 people at any one time and although it’s not the ideal for us to all be together without restrictions, we will graciously accept this as the start of us all fellowshipping in one accord, in one place as one family all together very soon!
So with that said I am excited to announce that Church of Christ (NZ) Manurewa will open this Sunday 31st May. To make sure we comply with the required number who attend we will have two services, the first at 9:45am and the second at 12:00pm. Each service will begin with Children’s Church. To help with contact tracing I would ask please that you consider which service and how many of you will attend and then notify any of our Deacons or myself by a simple text message.
We will follow Health & Safety guidelines so should you desire to bring and wear your face mask that’s fine, we’ll also be practicing social distancing, cleaning of the church thoroughly and all surfaces, have sanitising gel available contact tracing and everything else that is needed to comply! If you or any of your children are sick please stay home!
I also want to be clear in saying that if any of you are hesitant to join us at this stage, no problem as we will still have the service posted online for you to view. I will let you know shortly how this will work. This will be our first week back in over two months so will be a cautious, soft reopening and hopefully as we navigate our way through this time we will see more and more of you return back to your Church family.
For myself and Ann we are really looking forward to seeing you all and we thank God for His Goodness to us in hearing our prayers during this difficult season! Let us join together this Sunday as Ezra said, “And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Ezra 3:11. Remember those of you who need assistance with food, our food bank is full so again just notify any of our Deacons to receive this.
See you on Sunday! God bless you all!
Pastor.
