Message from Pastor – 6 October 2020 – Manurewa
Hello Rewa Church Family,
Greetings and blessings in Jesus Name!
Thankful to Christ for the last few days been such wonderful spring sunshine weather! And may also the warmth of His Love and Joy be flooding your hearts!
Great news today from our Prime Minister in returning Auckland to level one in a couple of days this Wednesday 7th October 11:59pm.
For the last two Sunday’s it’s been terrific having fellowship with all of you who attended in the house of God again, and so I’m looking forward to having even more of our church family join us this weekend!
Beloved, so far this year since the end of March we’ve endured the best part of 6 months in some form of lockdown, confined largely to our homes and certainly kept from fellowshipping together in the house of God. But in all of this time we can acknowledge that God has been ever Faithful in His watching over us individually and as a Church! And He will continue to do so!
“Don’t be afraid, for I have ransomed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine. When you go through deep waters and deep troubles I will be with you.” (Isaiah 43v1&2)
So as I announced yesterday here’s an update on how our week and weekend is scheduled with services:
THURSDAY 8th Oct
7.30pm – Online Bible & Prayer
SUNDAY 11th Oct
Morning Children’s Church 9:45am – In Church Hall
Morning Worship 9:45am – Main Church
Evening Worship 6:30pm – Main Church
We are still required to adhere to Health & Safety protocols so please remember to practice these each time we enter the Sanctuary. Most importantly Do Not attend if you or your children are sick.
A reminder that this Friday evening 9th Oct at 6:30pm – 7:30pm, as announced yesterday we will be having a family time in the church hall for the unveiling of our mural. This is open to all our congregation so come along, see and share!
Well, looking forward to seeing you all sometime soon online, or in God’s house!
God be with you always.
Pastor.

Dear Church of Christ Rewa Family,
How are you all getting along in Level 3 lockdown?
After only a few days since my last update here I am again to inform you all of how we are to proceed over the next 2 weeks.
Our Prime Minister has tonight announced that we in Auckland are to stay at Level 3 until August 26th. This means we will NOT be holding any services inside our Church building over this period of time.
To avoid any unnecessary health issues I would ask all church key holders to please NOT enter the church building for any reason.
So here’s the schedule of how our services will go for the next 2 weeks:
Sunday Morning 9:45am Worship & Children’s Church – online
Sunday Evening 6:30pm Service – temporarily cancelled
Thursday Evening 7:30pm Bible & Prayer – online
All other gatherings at church are temporarily cancelled.
Beloved, with COVID-19 showing up again this way I know you all will keep praying for our City, Community and Families!
We all have the continued desire for all people to hear and embrace the Truth of God’s Word, and that they will come into a personal relationship with the Living God.
No doubt there’ll be reason for me to address you all sometime soon with further updates but until then I’ll look forward to seeing you (by faith, not by sight) this Sunday online!!
Ephesians 3:14-16 (ESV) “For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of His glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being.”
God bless and keep you all in His love and care!
Pastor.

Dear Church of Christ Rewa Family,
Late last night our Prime Minister announced that because of new positive cases of COVID-19 having gone into the community Auckland would go into “Lockdown level 3” for three days from 12pm noon today through to 12am midnight on Friday. For the rest of New Zealand they will move to “Level 2” for the same period of three days.
That means for us our 7:30pm Thursday evening Bible Study & Prayer will be online so make sure you tune in on our website www.ccnz.org.nz go to Location and you’ll find Manurewa. Alternatively if you have our ‘Infoodle’ church app the service will be posted for you to watch from your cellphone or electronic device.
Please note that should we remainin lockdown beyond Friday and into Saturday & Sunday our Sunday morning Worship service and Children’s Church will then be online beginning at 9:45am. However our 6:30pm Evening service would be cancelled! I’ll confirm this to you if required.
Beloved, as we re-enter lockdown, Ann and I remain committed to you as our congregation and are praying for you all at this time trusting in the LORD that while we may be concerned about the uncertainty of these times, our Hope, Trust and Comfort is in CHRIST JESUS our Saviour.
Let me close out this short message with the words to the wonderful hymn I’ve quoted before:
“Be not dismayed what ere betide GOD will take care of you. Beneath His wings of love abide, GOD will take care of you!”
God be with you all. Always.
Pastor.

Dear COC Rewa Family,
Isn’t it great to be back in the House of the Lord again!
For the past two Sundays we’ve enjoyed the blessings of being physically together in fellowship, and although not everyone is back we’re trusting that over the next week or two all of us will be healthy and comfortable enough to return to the House of GOD.
Many of you are now asking “where do we go from here now?” “when will be back to our normal services?” “Has COVID-19 changed the way we have church from now on?”
Let me answer briefly, that COVID-19 has opened an amazing new avenue for us with Online Ministry which I believe was the providence of GOD, and it has been a wonderful means of us keeping connected as a church as well as reaching beyond the church to any unsaved people who may have tuned in online. However, this was never going to be the “new normal” in replacing us physically fellowshipping in the House of GOD. Isaiah 56v7 Even those will I bring to My holy mountain. And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Hebrews 10v25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.
So, moving forward here’s our schedule with getting back to our usual services:
Sunday Morning Worship & Children’s Church:
We resumed these services back in the House of GOD on Sunday 31st May 2020 and these are ongoing.
As we have also been having these services online during COVID-19 and they will continue to be online (with our Children’s Church kept online) we will remain at starting time of 9:45am…Prayer meeting for this service will be 8:45am – 9:15am and will resume this Sunday 14th June.
Sunday Evening Service:
This service will resume again from 21st June 2020 and start time remains at our usual time of 6:30pm…Prayer meeting for this service remains at 5:30pm – 6:00pm.
Thursday Evening Bible Study & Prayer:
This service will resume again in the House of GOD on 18th June 2020 and start time remains at 7:30pm.
I trust this is clear to you all, and I want to remind you to pray much for our church that as we return fully to our usual services the power of the Holy Spirit will be more upon us as we seek to honour and glorify the Name of Jesus in these turbulent troubled times!
God bless you all and looking forward to seeing you Sunday!

Pastor’s Message – Manurewa
Dear CoC Rewa family
I greet you all in the Name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!
How quickly have the circumstances of our lives changed in response to the COVID-19 precautions in place for our nation! In less than a week we have experienced the necessary tightening of our freedom to go about wherever we wish and visit whoever we want.
We all shared the sorrows of being separated from one another for Sunday worship as I missed seeing many of your smiling faces. But as we move now into where we cannot fellowship at all in church or together, we are reminded of the words of the apostle Paul “sorrowful yet always rejoicing!” We can rejoice as we continue to put our trust in Jesus. Although we now move to isolation we are never alone for the promise of Christ to us is “Lo I am with you always!”
Church be encouraged we will get through this! I am seeing what I can do to be able to share God’s WORD with you in online worship and will let you know in the next couple of days how this can work. Ann and I are continuing to remember you all in our prayers and we will be ringing, texting, and connecting all the time through our church website http://www.ccnz.org.nz to ensure we all are “ever looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith!”
I want again to encourage you, to wherever you can, be a lighthouse for Jesus in this very difficult time. Your unsaved family and friends and neighbours everywhere are discouraged depressed and fearful and we can tell them how God loves and cares for them and they will find Hope and Peace in Him. And encourage each other “building yourselves up on your most holy faith!”..I will be at my home sharing in self isolation with you so if any of you need anything just call or text me.
“And now brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” May His keeping power sustain you! Our love in Christ to you all!
